It was a sweet conversation about what life would be like with a little baby brother.
Then Anders asked,
"Is he going to have a face?"
I said yes.
"Is he going to have a body?"
I said yes.
"Is he going to have foots, like mine?"
Yes, he is.
Silence.
And then, "Okay."
I can't imagine loving another baby as much as I adore this little boy.
But, I am certain I am soon to learn the lesson about the power of love.
As I type this I can hear Anders over the baby monitor, quietly calling me in his sleepy little voice...."Mema. Mema. Mommy."
And now, silence.
All is well in our house. Anders is asleep, Anna is at a Greg Brown concert, and I am alone, quiet, and grateful.
Awaiting the soon arrival of our second son with his face, and body, and foots.
